FIRE: All campus buildings are marked with a fire escape route. When the fire alarm sounds, follow the designated fire escape route, using stairs instead of elevators to the nearest exit. Do not take personal belongings with you. Faculty should communicate with their department head or immediate supervisor regarding fire-related safety protocol that may be unique to each specific unit. All personnel are required to exit the building and meet at the designated meeting point when the fire alarm sounds.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather the Perry Weather* alert system and/or community tornado alarm will sound. Perry Weather is available in the Safety Toolbox on the LionSafe App.
LIGHTENING: When the lightening alarm sounds, all personnel should immediately go in doors until the all-clear sounds.
TORNADO: When the tornado alarm sounds, seek shelter in a secure area (an internal room on the first floor of a building with no windows). Some campus buildings have designated sheltered areas marked by signs.
*The Perry Weather system tracks on-site conditions and alerts the campus community regarding extreme heat, lightning, and other weather hazards.
