In this session, attendees will discuss best practices in proposal narrative development as well as key differences between grant writing and academic writing. A Hanover Grants Consultant will guide attendees through the proposal development process, recommending a timeline, structure, and focus that will help grant writers tell a logical story and place their research in the right scientific context.

This course will provide students with the skills and knowledge to prepare grant proposals (pre-award) and manage awarded grants (post-award). Topics covered include, but are not limited to identifying funding sources, proposal development, budget development, project administration, research compliance, regulatory committees (IRB, IBC, IACUC), and ethics in research practices.
