Epsilon Delta Pi

Epsilon Delta Pi was organized in 1973 by students and faculty members of East Texas State University and West Texas State University. Prior to this time, the existing honor societies did not meet the needs of all data processing and computer science students. Students in every application and level of computer science, including business, scientific, teacher education, engineering, and systems programming in both colleges and universities, are worthy of recognition for outstanding academic scholarship. Thus, Epsilon Delta Pi was established as a vehicle for this recognition.

The purpose of Epsilon Delta Pi is to promote the high ideals of the computer science profession; to give recognition to those computer scientists who manifest worthy qualities of character, scholarship, and professional attainment; to bind together similarly interested students; and to encourage excellence in computer science scholarship.

ACM, Association of Computing Machinery, is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the arts, science, engineering, and application of information technology, serving both professional and public interests by fostering the open exchange of information and by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.
