BARNES, Robert V. Jr.-Dallas
Mr. Barnes graduated from A&M-Commerce in 1976 with a BS in Industrial Technology, having majors in Architecture and Business Management. He began his career with Dee Brown, Inc. in 1969 and now serves as the Chairman and CEO. He also serves as an officer and director of numerous businesses nationwide. He is very active in the community and has served as Board Chairman and Director of the Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation and Texo (formally Quoin and AGC of Dallas). He is also a Board Member of Salesmanship Club of Dallas, Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Visiting Nurses Association. He also serves as a trustee for the Episcopal Foundation of Dallas, Gaston Episcopal Hospital Foundation, Baylor Health Care System Foundation and the A&M-Commerce Foundation. Buddie is an active member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas which sponsors the Byron Nelson Golf Championship each year and has raised 111 Million Dollars for its charity which equates to over 10% of all dollars raised by PGA Golf Tournaments nationwide. He also serves as an advisory board member to the A&M-Commerce school of Business and Technology and as a member on the A&M System Chancellor's Council. Mr. Barnes and Debby live in Dallas where they are able to keep up with their five children and seven grandchildren. Mr. Barnes is past chairman of the Foundation, and serves as chair of the advancement and fundraising committee. He and his wife are members of the prestigious Rayburn Society. They have endowed a scholarship for construction science and engineering students.
