Dr. Fullwood graduated with a BS degree in 1964 and a M.ED degree in 1966 from Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. In 1968 he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma in the area of Special Education.
Dr. Fullwood served the university for over 40 years as a Professor /Administrator in the College of Education. His method of teaching and managing has earned him the respect of many former students, faculty members, and colleagues across campus.
Some of the honors Dr. Fullwood earned include:
- Distinguished Ideas Award, Phi Delta Kappa, 2009
- Outstanding Service to the Council for Exceptional Children, 2007
- Teacher of the Year, 1985
Dr. Fullwood has been a featured speaker and has written numerous articles concerning individuals with special needs. His community service involvement includes Arc of Hunt County, Arc of Texas, and Lakes Regional MHMR.
Dr. Fullwood and his wife Virginia have lived in Commerce since joining the university.
