Assistantships
The Department of Literature and Languages at East Texas A&M University has graduate assistantships available for each semester. Assistantships within the department are either Graduate Assistant Non-Teaching (GANT), Graduate Assistant Teaching (GAT) or Graduate Assistant Research (GAR) positions.
Beginning GA's usually tutor in the Writing Center for 20 hours a week. Second-year and doctoral students teach two sections of first-year composition or equivalent per semester. Later opportunities include teaching literature, advanced comp, basic writing, and working in a computer classroom.
