William Wadley
William Wadley earned his BA Degree in Art History at The University of California at Berkeley. He completed an MA in Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University and the Ph.D., also in Art History, at The University of Texas at Austin.
He has held teaching positions at The University of Texas at Arlington, The University of Texas at Austin, The University of the South, and Texas A&M University-Commerce. He has also served on the faculty of British Studies Programs at Oxford University (St. John Baptist College) and King’s College of London University. His research and publications comprise topics in both medieval and contemporary art and includeMonks, Nuns and Friars in Mediaeval Society and “Karl Umlauf: Transitions 1989-91” in Karl Umlauf: The Journey. He has held positions as Department Head of the Department of Fine Arts at The University of the South and the Department of Art at Texas A&M University-Commerce. His honors and awards include election to Phi Beta Kappa of The University of California, the Silver Medal of the Société des Arts, Sciences et Lettres of Paris, and the Golden Apple Award of the Dallas Society of Visual Communications.
