Chad Smith

Chad SmithChad D Smith is an Assistant Professor of Photography at Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. He has over 25 years of experience in both the applied and fine art fields of photography, has taught all aspects of photography for over 17 years and even conducted a pinhole workshop at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia in Spain.

Mr. Smith has exhibited nationally and internationally in many solo and group exhibitions. His work has been chosen by the Texas Historical Foundation Exhibition, and by the Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach, FL for “Reverberations: Diptychs and Triptychs from the Southeast Museum of Photography” Exhibition and for its permanent collection. Mr. Smith is best known for his ongoing photographic study of the American landscape and has won many awards and grants, with his most recent being a grant for a collaborative project documenting small retail businesses that are vanishing from the “American Marketscape”.
