29.01.04 Accessibility of Electronic Information Resources

Policy

Texas A&M University-Commerce is committed to making its EIR accessible to all individuals regardless of physical, developmental abilities or impairments. Texas A&M will comply with the accessibility rules set forth by the Texas Administrative Code: Title 1, Chapter 213, Subchapter CTexas Administrative Code: Title 1, Rule 206.70, and Texas Government Code 2054, Subchapter M. Access to Electronic and Information Resources by Individuals with Disabilities

Making websites accessible means building them in a way that everyone can read and interact with them. Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Texas Administrative Code Chapters 206 and Texas Administrative Code Chapters 213 provides standards for state and university website accessibility.

The Section 508 standards are currently being reviewed and updated to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Standard.

All Texas A&M University Commerce webpages including online forms and documents, must comply with State, Federal and Texas A&M Systems policy.
