DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR CHECK-IN

Summer 2023

Please ONLY upload your immigration documents after your arrival to the United States

DEADLINE TO UPLOAD IMMIGRATION DOCUMENTS BY JUNE 12, 2023.

Below are the required documents and information for check-in. (If you fail to upload all required documents OIP will reject the submission). Failure to upload your immigration documents by June 12, 2023, and failure to attend federally mandated New International Student Orientation (Immigration Briefing) may result in the termination of your SEVIS Record and F-1 visa. Upon the termination of your SEVIS record you may be required to leave the U.S. immediately.

Fall 2023

DEADLINE TO UPLOAD IMMIGRATION DOCUMENTS BY SEPTEMBER 5, 2023.

Below are the required documents and information for check-in. (If you fail to upload all required documents OIP will reject the submission). Failure to upload your immigration documents by September 5, 2023 and failure to attend federally mandated New International Student Orientation (Immigration Briefing), may result in the termination of your SEVIS Record and F-1 visa. Upon the termination of your SEVIS record you may be required to leave the U.S. immediately.

Instructions for submitting your check-in documents:

• Click to fill in the Check-In Form
• Upload a copy of your passport and visa page
• Upload a copy of your electronic I-94. If you have a paper copy of your I-94, upload both front and back. 
• Upload a copy of your A&M-Commerce I-20 with your signature on the student attestation section.
• Students with F-2 dependents will need to upload their dependent(s) I-20, passport, visa, and I-94 record.
• Students on approved OPT/STEM OPT or Economic Hardship will need to upload a copy of their EAD card front and back
• Students approved for a change of visa status or TPS will need to upload of their receipt notice, approval notice, and EAD card (if applicable)

• H1b, H4, L1 and other visas or approval notice.

All F-1 and J-1 international students admitted for the Spring 2022 semesters are required to attend the International Student Orientation hosted by the ISSS on January 11, 2022, from 8AM – 4PM in the Rayburn Student Center, Conference Rooms A, B & C.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires every international student to check in with the International Office. We are required to report your arrival at A&M-Commerce to the USCIS.

If you fail to attend the orientation on January 11, we may be forced to terminate your Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) record and in accordance to 8 CFR 214.2(f)(5)(iv) of the regulations you will be required to depart the U.S. immediately. This will leave a permanent negative mark on your U.S. immigration history and may result in a denial of any pending immigration applications.

All new undergraduate students to A&M-Commerce are required to attend a separate new undergraduate orientation called New Student Orientation. The New Student Orientation is hosted by a separate office on campus and is not part of the ISSS services. For more information contact the New Student Orientation office.  

• All F-1 and J-1 international students except for current A&M-Commerce international student matriculating to a new degree level, undergraduate to graduate, or who is beginning a new degree program must contact new.intl@tamuc.edu to schedule a brief check-in with an OIP staff member.
• Students who are studying at A&M-Commerce and are in the U.S. under a different visa category (H1-B, F-2, H-4, E, etc.) are required to upload their check-in documents.
• Students who are on under a different visa category (H1-B, F-2, H-4, E, etc.) and have applied for a change of status to F-1 must upload their check-in documents and attend the New International Student Orientation.
• Students who are other visa category (H1-B, F-2, H-4, E, etc.) do not have to but are encouraged to attend the New International Student Orientation.
