Physics and Astronomy Scholarships for Success (PASS)

Students majoring in Physics at East Texas A&M University are invited to apply for the NSF-funded Physics and Astronomy Scholarships for Success (PASS) program.  You may be eligible for up to $7,800 in scholarships per year (potentially renewable for up to 3 years).  In addition, funds are also available as stipend support for research involvement and to support travel to scientific meetings to present your research results.

Note: Students are welcome to work with any faculty member in the physics and astronomy department.  If you are double majoring with physics as one of your majors and would like to pursue research in your other department, that is also possible.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Admitted Refugee
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Physics at A&M-Commerce
  • Demonstrated academic ability or potential
  • Demonstrated financial need based on FAFSA data
  • Nominal minimum 3.0 GPA for students currently enrolled at A&M-Commerce (with consideration on a case-by-case basis for students in the 2.5-3.0 range)

Application Procedure:

  • Submit a complete FAFSA application at www.fafsa.ed.gov (the code for A&M-Commerce is 003565)
  • Complete your application (download here) and send to Project Director Dr. Bao-An Li (Bao-An.Li@tamuc.edu)
  • Note that new transfer students will be considered preferentially
  • Deadline: While applications are welcome at any time, to be considered for an award for Fall 2018, complete applications should be submitted by Sept. 2, 2018
