The Global Learning Recognition has been designed to encourage student engagement in global activities and to enable distinction and recognition among students for engagement in global activities. All students not directly targeted by the existing Quality Enhancement Plan including Transfer, Sophomore, Junior, Seniors and Graduate Students are eligible to apply.
This recognition will be awarded upon completion and documentation of a wide range of activities (courses, events, optional: research, travel) at the discretion of the standing committee of Global Fellows.
Applications for status as a Global Learner are available through ManeSync during each semester and will be accepted from students who are not eligible for Global Scholar. THis includes transfer students, seniors, international students, and graduate students.
The QEP committee and Global Fellows will review the applications and ePortfolios (Learn More Here) of each student and rate using an established Rubric.
Based on participation and documentation, students are selected and awarded status as Global Learner.
The application is accessed through ManeSync within the "Future Global Learners" group. If you encounter errors in accessing the application link below. Please join the "Future Global Learners" in ManeSync then try accessing the below link.
Students will be encouraged to create and maintain an ePortfolio designed to document involvement in global instruction and activities and to house specific artifacts and reflection in reference to the students’ courses and experiences.
The ePortfolio will serve as a key component of assessment for the program, as well as an important consideration in selection of students earning the Global Learning Recognition. Access a student guide on how create an ePortfolio by clicking the link below.

All students will be encouraged to complete at least one global course. All students, regardless of specific area of study, will experience a global perspective in relation to global dynamics issues, trends, processes, and/or systems in a particular field of study.
Students will be required to log global courses taken and enter a reflection into the ePortfolio. Global courses are identified in the course catalog and schedule of classes (e.g., MGT 305 GLB/ Principles of Mgt.).
Students are encouraged to engage in research (e.g., papers, projects, thesis, conferences, and publications) centered on global dynamics (e.g., issues, trends, systems, processes). All global research activities must be logged into the ePortfolio to be considered toward the Global Learning recognition.
Students are encouraged to attend at least three events that are global in nature (e.g., Multicultural Festival), log attendance into the ePortfolio, and enter a personal reflection. Although global travel is optional in the consideration for the Global Learning Recognition, it is highly encouraged.
All Global travel must be logged into the ePortfolio along with a reflection. For study abroad programs, pre and post Global Competence Aptitude Assessment results must also be included.
