Workers' Compensation Information
The Texas A&M University System Workers' Compensation Insurance (WCI) Program was created by the State of Texas to provide reasonable and necessary medical coverage and disability payments to employees who sustain injuries or occupational diseases while in the course and scope of their employment.
Eligibility
All persons employed in the service of and on the payroll of the institutions and agencies under the direction and governance of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System that Workers' Compensation Insurance coverage is provided in accordance with Chapter 502 of the Texas Labor Code.
Employee Responsibilities
Employees who suffer an injury or illness as a result of and in the course and scope of employment should immediately notify his/her supervisor, HR.Leave@tamuc.edu, and Howard.Pierson@tamuc.edu. Failure to report the injury within 30 days of the occurrence (or the manifestation of the occupational disease) may result in the denial of the claim.
East Texas A&M and all System members will utilize an online portal, Origami, to report and record worker compensation injuries.
