What is Supplemental Instruction?

SI-supported courses provide additional academic support opportunities for students who choose to enroll in selected sections of certain courses.  SI courses incorporate an SI Leader, usually an undergraduate student, into the course who attends all the course lectures, takes class notes, and then will host 3-4 group study sessions outside of the scheduled lecture portion of class.

During the SI group sessions, students have the opportunity to ask questions,  collectively problem-solve, apply strategies, and much more.  SI Leader review sessions are provided at no extra cost, are voluntary, and can be attended as needed or desired.

 Spring 2024 is posted here.

Students need to bring:

  • Your textbook and any course materials, (handouts, lecture notes, review sheets, etc.)
  • A calculator for math
  • SI Leaders do not have access to your homework, please bring questions with you.
