As a joint project between the departments of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Linguistics Dr. Salvatore Attardo, Dr. Nikolay Sirakov, Dr. Abdulah Arslan, Dr. Christian Hempelmann and various graduate students are working to develop a system of weapon identification to enhance security.
A paper they published won the Lockheed Martin Best Paper Award at SPIE conference in 2013.
