Counseling Honor Society Inductions
The third annual Counseling Scholarship Reception was held in conjunction with the Counseling Honor Society’s induction of new members on April 30, 2010 at the Sam Rayburn Student Center in Commerce, TX. The evening was devoted to honoring the department’s scholarship recipients as well as the scholastic achievements of outstanding honors students with their membership to the honor society.
Guests included Dr. Mary Hendrix, Vice President for Student Access & Success, and Dr. Brent Mangus, Dean of the College of Education and Human Services.
The evening was shared with department of counseling faculty, students and their guests.
The 2009-2010 Scholarship Honorees included:

Dequetta Sanders– Ruth Ann White Scholarship
Shahab Dean Aslinia – McQuary Doctoral Scholarship
Jodie Elder – Outstanding Truax Doctoral Scholar

Counseling Honor Society Inductions
The second annual Counseling Scholarship Dinner was held in conjunction with the Counseling Honor Society’s induction of new members on April 30, 2009 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Dallas, TX. This night was devoted to honoring the department’s scholarship recipients as well as the scholastic achievements of outstanding honors students with their membership to the honor society.
Dr. Frank Ashley, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the Texas A&M University System was the keynote speaker for the evening. His speech inspired and motivated all in attendance through his message of making a difference in other’s lives. Dr. Brent Mangus, the Dean of the College of Education and Human Services and his wife were also among the dignitaries for the evening.
Drs. Ashley and Mangus were additionally awarded honorary memberships to the local chapter of the Honor Society, Chi Sigma Iota-Epsilon Tau
The evening was shared with department of counseling faculty, student and their families and guests.

Counseling Scholarship Dinner
The first annual Counseling Scholarship Dinner was held on April 17, 2008 at the Texas A&M University-Commerce Memorial Student Center to honor the 2008-2009 Department of Counseling scholarship recipients.
The keynote speaker for the evening was Dr. Keith McFarland, President & CEO of Texas A&M University-Commerce.
The evening was shared with the department of counseling faculty, students and their families.
