Texas A&M-Commerce COVID Policy
“While TAMUC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations for students participating in Study Abroad experiences, other countries, international partners, program and travel providers, as well as businesses, governments, and institutions involved in aspects of study abroad and global travel may require the COVID-19 vaccination. As a result, it may be necessary to demonstrate that you have been vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter a country or access various sites and services during your overseas experience.”
Enroll in the Smart Traveler App
Students and Faculty overseas should enroll in the official State Department app for U.S. travelers. The app invites you to see the world with easy access to frequently updated official country information, travel alerts, travel warnings, maps, U.S. embassy locations, and more. You can additionally enroll in the “STEP” program which connects your profile to your time overseas.

CISI “Travel Eye” APP
This app will allow you to associate your background with emergency services in relation to your health insurance provider if enrolled in CISI. Student & Faculty can utilize this as an additional resource when doing overseas studies.

School Requirements
In part of Texas A&M system compliance, Office of International Programs study abroad participants must be enrolled in an international health insurance provider either enrolled by the university policy with CISI or with the program provider that is approved by our university.
Benefits of your Health Insurance
Students and/or faculty enrolled in CISI health insurance that is designed specifically for cultural exchange participants. Not only does the plan provide accident and sickness insurance, but it also covers medical evacuation and repatriation as well as security evacuations should they become necessary. And unlike many domestic insurance plans, the CISI plan will pay 100% of covered expenses without requiring a deductible designed specifically for cultural exchange participants. How it is applied to your program
Depending on the program you are applying & enroll in, the health insurance provisions are the same, but the associated cost may differ. TAMUC programs may apply the health insurance fee with the program itself which will be seen on the program page, or it will be an additional cost if you are enrolling in an affiliated program. This information will be communicated to you as you start your application process with Texas A&M-Commerce!
