Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery

Requesting Material

To request an item or an article from another library or a book in the library use the Interlibrary Loan system.

Interlibrary Loan acquires materials from other libraries for current Texas A&M University-Commerce faculty members, graduate students, undergraduate students, and staff. If you need a book we don't have, we borrow a copy. If you request a journal article, we obtain a photocopy or a PDF electronic copy.

Document Delivery provides PDF versions of journal articles not available in full-text databases, items from our e-journal collections, and single book chapters needed for research. These materials are delivered online to individual accounts accessible to current students, faculty and staff via the Interlibrary Loan system. These documents can be read, downloaded, saved and/or printed.

Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery services are free.

NOTE: We do not borrow textbooks for your classes or books that are owned by Texas A&M University-Commerce Libraries.

Office Hours

The Interlibrary Loan / Microforms Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM but you may pick up interlibrary loan material at the Customer Service Desk any hour the library is open. Most materials arrive in one to two weeks.

If we borrow a book for you we send you a notice and hold the book at the Customer Service Desk. The lending library sets the due date on books; it is usually about 3 weeks use. We can request a renewal , but it is up to the loaning library to say "yes" or "no" and to set the new due date. There is no semester check-out for interlibrary loan material.

Photocopies and PDF documents are made accessible in the Interlibrary Loan system.

Location

The Interlibrary Loan / Microforms Office is located on the second floor.

Overdue Materials

Failure to return Interlibrary Loan materials in a timely manner will result in automatic suspension of all Interlibrary Loan privileges until all overdue materials are returned. Patrons are responsible for any overdue and/or book replacement fees charged to us by the lending library.
