Digital Outdoor Advertising

One great way to advertise news and events related to A&M-Commerce is on our digital sign, located at the corner of Culver Street and Highway 24 in Commerce. This sign is intended to advertise university functions and broadcast special alerts pertaining to students, faculty, staff or the general public.

Submit a Request

Requests for ads may be submitted online using our Digital Sign Request Form. You will need a tamuc.edu or myLEO email address to fill out the form.

Guidelines

Approval

All requests must be verified and approved before an ad is created. We will contact you by email to confirm whether your request has been approved or if edits need to be made. A request that meets all requirements may not guarantee approval as approval also depends on available advertising space.

Artwork

We review all artwork to ensure that it does not violate university graphics standards or copyright laws. Exact specifications are provided in the request form. If you did not submit artwork with your request, you will be prompted to supply artwork once your request has been approved.

Audience

Content must apply to the general student body and/or faculty and staff. The digital sign is a broad means of communication and requests that are applicable to only small audiences reduce the effectiveness of the sign. If a specific audience is desired, please consider a more direct means of communicating to that audience.

Display Time

Display time is limited to a maximum of six seconds per ad. However, the amount of exposure time your ad receives may be adjusted based on audience impact, total number of ads running and the frequency of your events.

Lead Time

Requests should be submitted one week prior to desired run date. Please note that “run date” and “event date” are different. The run date refers to when the ad begins appearing on the sign.

Text and Ad Length

Messaging must be concise because the average viewer will be driving and may only see each ad for a few seconds. Text is limited to 20 characters per line with a maximum of four lines of text. For readability, we recommend a maximum of three lines of text. Ads requiring additional information may need to be delivered over multiple presentation frames; however, display time is limited to a maximum of six seconds per ad.

University Events

Ad requests will not be approved unless the advertised event is held on university property. University-affiliated virtual events may also be approved. Events directly sponsored by the university are exempt from this requirement (e.g. Alumni Golf Classic).

Due to the volume of university events, community requests will not be posted unless they are directly sponsored by the university and/or approved by Marketing and Communications.

Welcome Messages

Welcome messages are reserved for public and system dignitaries. These must be used with caution as numerous individuals visit our campus. Although this is an excellent means of welcoming, it does not support the intent or purpose of the sign.
