New Emphasis in Our Spanish Graduate Program: Teaching Spanish as a Second Language

NEW CERTIFICATE IN COLLEGE LEVEL SPANISH TEACHING at Texas A&M University-Commerce

The Spanish Program at Texas A&M University-Commerce is offering a NEW Certificate in Spanish College Level Teaching. This a post-baccalaureate program for those who hold a bachelors degree in Spanish and are interested in teaching Spanish primarily at the community college level. Our Spanish Certificate can be completed in one year (7 courses) and provides specific training in teaching methodologies, advanced grammar, children and adolescent literature written in Spanish and survey courses in literature and culture.

We offer online classes, distance classes and face-to-face classes in our campuses in Mesquite and Commerce.

Requirements to complete certificate program: 

21 graduate hours

SPA 516 Contemporary Latin American Literature

SPA 503  Stylistics and Literary Theory
