Below you will find our Department of Literature and Languages admissions requirements.

ENGLISH
PhD in English (U.S. Resident)
- Apply
- Application Fee - $50
- Official GRE scores
- Official Transcripts – Request official transcripts from all institutions you have attended, including all undergraduate and graduate coursework.
- Four Reference Forms (Form provided below)
- Work Experience and Goals Statement Form
- Doctoral English Portfolio
PhD in English (International)
- Apply
- Application Fee - $75
- Official GRE scores
- Official Transcripts & Diplomas - Request official transcripts and official copies of diplomas, translated in English, from each college or university attended.
- Four Reference Forms (Form provided below)

- Doctoral English Portfolio
- TOEFL or IELTS - Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit proof of English proficiency. TOEFL Score - 79 or IELTS Score - 6.0
- Sponsor's Statement with a current Bank Statement (Form provided below)
Master’s in English (U.S. Resident)
- Apply
- Application Fee - $50
- Official Transcripts – Request official transcripts from all institutions you have attended, including all undergraduate and graduate coursework.
- Portfolio
- One or more Letters of Recommendation, up to three
- Statement of Goals
- Atleast one of the following:
. Official GRE scores or
. An awarded bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with:
o At least a 3.00 GPA on the last 60 hours of the degree or o An overall GPA of at least a 3.00 of the degree
Master’s in English (International)
- Apply
- Application Fee - $75
- Official Transcripts & Diplomas - Request official transcripts and official copies of diplomas, translated in English, from each college or university attended.
- Portfolio

- Undergraduate Major/Minor in Spanish or Fluency in Spanish
Master’s in Spanish (International)
- Apply
- Application Fee - $75
- Official Transcripts – Request official transcripts from all institutions you have attended, including all undergraduate and graduate coursework.
- Atleast one of the following:
. Official GRE scores or
. An awarded bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with:

Deadlines
The Department of Literature and Languages accepts applications throughout the year. We do advise that international students complete their application process three months prior to the first semester they intend to enroll.
