The next accessibility item that we are going to talk about is links. And we're going to be talking about giving links meaningful names, having links to the items up here that are in the toolbar, and then also having links to the items that are here in the left navigation menu. It is important to have for at least to have meaningful names. This link we are looking at right here says video transcripts. So, that tells you when we click on this link it’s going to take us to a document that is a transcript of the video. And in order to make this a link you always have to be in author mode, as you know to make any changes in ecollege. Let's click on the little blue monitor here to make it bigger. You need to highlight your words and then we need to go up here to our editor and click on link. Then the transcript for this video is saved in file manager and the course. So, I’ll click continue and then click on, you have two choices you can upload a file or you can look for a file that you have already uploaded. and so we are looking for the introductory transcript. So this is our transcript here. Put a mark here in the radial button. Up here where it says text to display, it was the video transcript. Then we need to scroll all the way down and click add link. And then click back on this blue little monitor icon. Click save changes. And then let's go back to course view and click on our link. And it takes us back to our transcript. The next thing we're going to look at are links to the toolbar and then links at the left navigation if you’ll look at this page here you'll see that we're talking about that there are documents in doc sharing and that is a link to doc sharing. Here we're talking about the syllabus and this is a link to the syllabus, And here we're talking about syllabus quiz. Let's see where that's going to take us. That’s going to take us here to the syllabus quiz. Again to make these words to be linked, we have to be in author mode. Let's click here on the blue icon make it look little bigger. And so we're talking about that these documents are in doc sharing so we want to, when the student clicks on the word DocSharing that it will take him here up to DocSharing. So we've highlighted the words, now we go back to our link icon. And we're wanting to link to course tool because DocSharing is one of the tools. So, click continue we want the words display the DocSharing. Document sharing is where we want it to link to, Then we click add link and now the word is a link. If you want the link to be a little bit more prominent, you can select it and then bold it and then again click on this blue icon here. Make sure you click save changes or your work will be lost. Click ok. Now let's go back over the course view and see if that link works. And this takes us to the DocSharing. Okay now let's go back now and look; you want to make a link to something over here and the left navigation menu. Again we need to be in author mode. Let's make this a little bit bigger. And we're talking about the syllabus or the syllabus quiz. Let's go to the syllabus first. Highlighted the word course syllabus. Go up here to the icon click on that we are wanting to link to course content because it's in this left navigation menu. Click continue. So, we're trying to make a link to the syllabus and we want the words that are going to appear to be syllabus. And then we're going to add our link. Again I'm going to make that bold so it will be a little bit more prominent. Click here, so we can see our save changes button. Click okay. And let's click on course so we can go back and check our link. Yes that takes us to our syllabus. So, these are the types of things that I’m looking for when I’m reviewing a course accessibility to make sure that there are links to the tools as well as to the navigation menu. This is very helpful for students who have motor sensory Issues; that they're not having to move the mouse thank to the cursor. That they can just click on the word and it will take them to the item that they need.
