In this series of videos, we'll be talking about the different things that are looked for when a course is reviewed for accessibility. And there's a specific checklist that is used. So if you would like to see that you can contact the faculty center and request a copy of the checklist. One of the first things that is checked is to see if the ADA Accessibility Statement is on the course syllabus. And it is, so we can check that off from our list. The next thing that we are going to check is looking at headings and font size font style. So to check this, I need to be in author mode, make this bigger so we can see it. So here we have the editor we can see up at the top. When I click the cursor over a word that looks like it is a heading. Then I need to see where it says ‘heading here’, and there should only be one heading 1 per page. If you have additional headings, they need to be heading 2 heading 3 etc. If you want to make a word or a group of words a heading, select the words and then go up here to your editor, choose heading. And then you'll see that made the text larger, And then when we click on it. Here it says that is a heading. Also the style and the size of the font is looked at next. As for as the style of your font, it needs to either be Verdana or Arial. Those are the most common fonts and they're also the easiest to read online. As for as the size of your font needs to be at least size 3 or larger. And this, of course helps with the accessibility that makes the text larger and makes it easier to read.
