The Master of Science in Higher Education with an Emphasis in Higher Education Administration provides students with a basic foundation in the discipline of Higher Education and is designed to prepare entry-level administrators for positions in colleges and universities.  The program is 30 hours total.   Students select these electives, with the assistance of the student's adviser, from the departments on campus that offer graduate coursework in disciplines that complement the coursework in the major.
  • The courses for this program are available only online (no face-to-face courses).  This program is not available to international students.

Admission Consideration Requirements for All Students

  • Apply Texas Application
  • Application fee:  $50 domestic student 
  • All official transcripts - Bachelor's degree, including all transcripts used towards bachelor's degree.  Any master's degree transcript or transcripts with graduate coursework (if applicable).
  • At least one of the following:

    • Official General Test GRE scores or
    • An awarded bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university with:
      • at least a 3.00 GPA on the last 60 hours of the degree or
      • an overall GPA of at least a 3.00 of the degree
  • Statement of Goals:  1-2 pages, up to 500 words.  
    Address career objectives and how the master's degree
    will help you meet those goals.
