Quick Start Grant Application

Quick Start is a renewable $250 or $500 grant for new A&M-Commerce graduate students beginning graduate coursework Spring 2023 that are employed by school districts, community colleges, Texas County and City Employees.  

Funding for this grant is limited. Please complete the application form at the bottom of this page.

In order to qualify for the Quick Start grant you must:

  • Complete and submit Quick Start Grant application form below.
  • Be a NEW graduate student at A&M-Commerce.
  • Apply and gain full, conditional, or nondegree admission to a master’s, specialist, doctoral, graduate certificate, or professional certification program at A&M-Commerce through ApplyTexas.
  • Texas county and city employees must complete and submit the Quick Start County or City Employee Recommendation form from your current supervisor.
  • All other students must complete and submit the Quick Start Recommendation Form from your current supervisor.  You are not required to submit a recommendation form if you are employed by one of the following ISDs:
    • Atlanta, Bland, Blooming Grove, Boles, Caddo Mills, Campbell, Celeste, Celina, Chisum, Commerce, Community, Corsicana, Crandall, Dallas, Detroit, El Dorado (AK), Farmersville, Forney, Ft Worth, Frisco, Frost, Garland, Grand Saline, Greenville, Hallsville, Hawkins, Kaufman, Kerens, Lancaster, Lake Worth, Lindale, Longview, McKinney, Mesquite, Mt Vernon, North Lamar, Paris, Pine Tree, Prairiland, Princeton, Prosper, Quinlan, Rains, Rice, Royse City, Saltillo, Seagoville, Spring Hill, Sulphur Springs, Terrell, Tyler, Waco, Whitehouse, Winnsboro, Wolfe City
  • Enroll in a minimum of three hours of graduate coursework no later than  January 17, 2023 to be eligible for a $250 award or enroll in a minimum of six hours of graduate coursework no later than January 17, 2023 for Spring 2023 to be eligible for a $500 award..

All above requirements must be met by January 17, 2023 for Spring 2023 in order to be eligible for the Quick Start Grant.  

Funds cannot be awarded in combination with any other Graduate Funding Initiative (CAG, TRIO, Stop-Out, Teacher of the Year).

You will be notified if you are awarded the Quick Start Grant and your account will be credited the appropriate amount. If you are receiving financial aid during the  Spring 2023 semester there may be a need to adjust your total financial aid package. I understand that if I am awarded this grant, I must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 graduate semester hours of coursework in the Spring 2023 semester to receive funding. If I withdraw from classes or drop below the required minimum graduate semester hours of coursework at Texas A&M University-Commerce on or before the 12th class day of the Spring 2023 semester I will forfeit this award.
