Former faculty member, Arizona State University, University of Tulsa, and former Director, School of Music, University of Tulsa, and former Dean, St. Louis Conservatory of Music. Professor of music, DMA, University of Arizona; M.M. Arizona State University; BM, University of Colorado. Studied composition with Cecil Effinger, Robert McBride, George Crumb, Ronald LoPresti, and Grant Fletcher. Recipient of eleven consecutive ASCAP Standard Panel awards, and cited for “excellence in Music” by the Texas House of Representatives in resolution #131 dated September 24, 2003. Recent album in jazz piano released, 2002. Dr. Hansen was designated a Texas A&M Regents Professor on December 4, 2008.
